FROM DEAD MAN'S CORNER
We are really pleased with the way the new EP has turned out. Dead Man's Corner is a three piece and we wanted the tracks to sound like a three piece, without lots of overdubs and studio trickery.
The Haunting didn't really start out as a blues track but it's ended up as some kind of perverted blues. Ku Ku Kurama was a song I wrote for Paul Young on his platinum selling album, No Parlez.
We thought we'd give it a go on live gigs and here's the recorded version. Bi-Furious was a song that started off as a kind of Billy Fury type thing but then the bi-polar lyrics kicked in and it's developed it's own character.
Whatever Is: I was listening to John Lennon's There's A Place, very moving when, in retrospect, we are aware of John's difficult childhood. The “Place” he retreats to is really inside his own mind. I wanted that feeling and this is what's happened – with a nod to Arthur Lee.
